Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s divorce has already been finalized, and the two have been living separate lives for a while. But even though right when the divorce was announced, there were reports that Urban had already moved on, there hasn’t really been much chatter about Kidman possibly doing the same. At least, nothing credible. Until now?
Reports during the last few days have pointed to Kidman’s close friendship with her Scarpetta co-star, Simon Baker. Baker is a longtime friend of Kidman, with Kidman the godmother to Baker’s son with his ex-wife, Rebecca Rigg. Rumors started flying after the two were spotted holding hands at the premiere of the show in New York City.
The Sun reported that the duo’s “closeness is definitely the talk of the town right now,” with a source saying they are “incredible together on screen and when you see them together in real life, that chemistry clearly wasn’t faked.”
Reportedly, the two also stuck close together during the after-party. “At the after-party, they stayed close all night and were deep in conversation,” the outlet also reported. They’d previously starred together as a couple on the series Roar. And back then, when Kidman was still married, she talked about how she didn’t find having to kiss Baker on screen all that strange, adding that they’d “kissed on the cheek before. We’ve hugged a lot. We’ve lived in the same house.”

“And you know, the woman I grew up with, he was married to for a substantial part of his life . . . 29 years, so we are just the same person,” she added. Baker and Rigg split in 2020.
But according to Rob Shuter the duo is not dating. “They’ve been famous way too long not to know exactly what that would do,” one insider said. “You don’t hold hands on a red carpet unless you want people talking.”
“If this were real, they’d be hiding it — not putting it on display,” the source added.
“This was deliberate.” It is, after all, good publicity for their show. “They’re enjoying it,” the insider revealed. “It’s harmless, it’s fun, and it keeps them in the headlines.”
According to the journalist, even her kids know. “Her kids are in on the joke,” the source said. “Everyone around her knows this isn’t some big love story.”
“This is two pros playing the publicity game,” the insider added. “And playing it very well.”
All of this comes after a source told RadarOnline in March that Keith Urban, who shares daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret with Kidman, was “desperate” to win back his family.
“Keith’s tour has kept him apart from the girls a lot more than he would like. As it is, he had to concede the majority of custody time to Nicole,” the insider said. “According to their divorce agreement, he only has Sunday Rose and Faith every other weekend, but when he’s touring, even that doesn’t work.”
The source added, “They’re used to long stretches away from Keith, who’s always been a working musician, but it’s tough. Keith is anxious to line up this trip with a break in the girls’ school schedule, so they can spend proper, relaxed time together.”
For now, the girls are with their mom and apparently having a lot of fun.
