Ever since the former prince Andrew was arrested for suspicion of misconduct in public office, there have been questions about what this means for the rest of the royal family. Particularly for his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. And lately, there have been rumors that the Epstein-related scandal, which also involves Fergie, is affecting the marriage of both Beatrice and Eugenie.

However, according to Hello!, friends of the couple are now saying the reports “are not true at all.” The Daily Mail had recently reported that the marriage between Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi was “in trouble” and that people close to the couple were concerned about the “distance” Mapelli Mozzi was putting between them as he was “keen to avoid his business being tainted by the scandal enveloping the House of York.”

“Things haven’t been great for a while between them, but Beatrice has been determined to soldier on and forge a path through,” sources said.  “Beatrice is quite different from her sister [Princess Eugenie]. She really wants to almost naively see the good in people and will turn a blind eye to uncomfortable truths — that is why she was blind to her father’s behaviour, and the same is true of her belief in Edo.”

Mapelli Mozzi, a property developer, has traveled a great deal in the past few weeks for work, including to Palm Beach and Fisher Island, in Miami. Beatrice has remained at home with their children.

However, a friend of the couple told Hello!, “The only thing Bea and Edo are navigating are their busy jobs and looking after their children! They’ve both had recent stints working abroad and like so many working parents, have balancing work with looking after the kids.

“Recent reports that things aren’t good between them are not true at all. Things are great between them and the only distance between them recently has been physical distance because of work!”

The two were seen together over the weekend, presenting a united front as they went out to Notting Hill for a date at Eeel Sushi Bar. Beatrice has kept a low profile since her father’s arrest, and experts think that will continue to be the case for the rest of the year. Not exactly by choice, either.

Royal author Phil Dampier and Ingrid Seward, the editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, told Hello! that the two might not make any official appearances for the rest of the year. “I think they have been tarnished,” Dampier said. “If you remember last Christmas, when they were both invited to Sandringham, they were very much seen as the innocent victims. The King and Queen were metaphorically putting an arm around them.

“I think that has changed following Andrew’s arrest and mentions of them in the Epstein files. We sometimes refer to them as ‘girls’, but they are 37 and 35. Some of the stuff they’ve been doing recently in the Middle East has not been a good look.

“People will ask: ‘Are you trying to cash in on contacts that have been given to you by Andrew or Sarah?'”
