The rumors over the state of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s marriage seemingly started right after they got married. Once the big wedding in Venice was done, people immediately started trying to figure out if the two would actually last. And people seemingly decided very early on that the relationship probably wasn’t going to work. But that was mostly people reacting on perceived vibes, not information.
Now, Hollywood insider Rob Shuter is entering the speculation. Shuter is reporting that, with the honeymoon done, the two are now settling into married life and that’s when the problems have started to emerge. “Everything changed the moment they got married,” one source told his Substack Naughty But Nice. “The honeymoon phase is over.”

And he, like others, points to a moment during the Vanity Fair Oscars post-party that has gotten a lot of attention. It all occurred as Bezos and Sánchez were walking the red carpet and taking pictures together. They took some pictures together, and then Sánchez seemingly gave her husband a look and said something to Bezos, who then walked out of the shot so she could take pictures on her own.
Vanity Fair posted the moment on social media, and people had a lot of feelings. “Proof that money can’t buy class!” one person said in response. Yet another made fun of the interaction, noting, “Lauren: Step away, hubby. You’re hogging my camera time,” alongside laughing emojis.
Shuter’s source said, “That look wasn’t nothing,” adding, “There’s tension there.”
“People close to them are giving this marriage a year — max,” one insider added, explaining that things have changed since the excitement of the wedding. “Before, it was all excitement and attention,” the source said. “Now it’s real life — and it’s not as perfect.”
The two didn’t really look upset with each other during the Vanity Fair party, or at any other public event they’ve attended together recently. But the reports say, “They’re already out of sync,” adding, “And that’s happening very fast.”
Now that the news has moved on from their lavish wedding, “It’s about what happens next,” the insider said. And the reports don’t seem to indicate the expectation is that it’s going to be good.
The same journalist has been reporting that the two haven’t really been on the same wavelength for a while. “Lauren’s energy is non-stop,” a source told Shuter, who described the couple’s holiday getaway this way, “She was jumping, dancing, laughing — and Jeff was hanging on for dear life. He looked wiped.”
“He’s happy, but he’s clearly worn out trying to match her,” another source said.
Sánchez recently spoke about the wedding with Extra, explaining how important it was to have both their kids involved. “All of our kids gave speeches, mine and Jeff’s, and they were all so meaningful,” she told the outlet. “My daughter gave a speech during the ceremony, this was before we said our vows, and [I] started bawling. Like, I could not- I’m like, ‘Oh, my gosh’ right before the pictures.”
“And so all of our kids gave these speeches and they were all extremely emotional and loving and I think they made the wedding what it was,” she added.
