Ever since Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engagement, there has been a lot of speculation about the possible wedding. And when Kelce signed another contract with the Chiefs, and it became clear he’d be returning to play football in September, things started taking shape. Because the wedding would surely happen before the NFL season began, right?
US Weekly reported not that long ago that the two had indeed set a date, June 13 in Rhode Island. And now the announcement of the Kansas City Chiefs‘ offseason schedule seems to support that date. Mandatory minicamp will be held from June 9 to 11, the team announced on Friday, April 3. It’ll be the team’s last offseason activity before training camp starts in late July.

Just in time for a weekend getaway. Or, a wedding.
“They’re both involved and making decisions together,” a source told Us Weekly about the details of wedding planning. The insider explained that both have “focused on actually enjoying the process rather than getting caught up in the pressure.”
The outlet also reported that the wedding party will likely be split between Swift’s Rhode Island mansion and Ocean House, a seaside resort nearby. “The guest list grew, so the ceremony and private gatherings associated with the wedding [will be split between the venues],” the insider explained. “Taylor always has a plan B and C for every scenario.”
And despite suggestions that Swift and Kelce would have a very big wedding, reports are that they’re keeping it intimate, with only around 150 guests. “It won’t be a huge wedding, but there will be many celebrities,” the source explained.
“They’ve gone back and forth between inviting everyone and keeping it small and private,” says one of the sources. “As of now, they’ve scaled it down. It’s no longer going to be a massive blowout.”
And reportedly, the date isn’t just about Swift’s lucky number being 13, but also about logistics. June 13 gives them enough time between minicamp and training camp to get married and even go on a honeymoon. Then, they will both get back to work.
When Kelce announced his decision to return to the NFL, he said Swift was one of his inspirations. “We share the same love for what we do,” Kelce said of Swift on ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show. “Fortunately, we’ve had this desire since we were kids in our selective professions. It’s amazing to see her keep going to the table, keep finding new things to write about, keep finding new melodies and things like that. On top of that, still seeing her have that love and joy in what she does.”
“Of course that’s motivating,” he added. “That’s motivating for anybody, let alone my fiancée. I’m going through something trying to figure out what exactly the future holds for me. Something like that definitely motivates me to say, ‘You know what, I’m not done either. I’ve still got some ideas in the back of my mind. I’ve still got some juice left to play this game.’”
