When details about Taylor Swift‘s upcoming wedding to Travis Kelce began to be reported, people were not just interested in the when and where, but also in who was on the guest list. This is especially true considering not just Swift’s who’s who of celebrity friends, but her reported feud with some people she’s been friends with for a while, including Blake Lively.
Now, Rob Shuter is reporting that Swift sees the latest in the Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni legal standoff as perhaps the beginning of the end. “It’s a huge relief,” one insider told the gossip columnist. “This case just got dramatically weaker.”

But there’s more. “No one understands why Blake isn’t trying to settle,” the source added. “From the outside, it looks like she’s already lost.” And reportedly, Taylor wants to stop being in the middle of it. “She wants this wrapped up before her summer wedding,” the insider revealed. “The timing couldn’t be worse.”
However, despite these reports, the reality is that Lively’s claims were not dismissed because they lacked merit, but merely because she was considered an independent contractor. And the claims that were allowed to go forward are really what some experts considered the core of the case. So there will still be a trial.
According to Shuter, Swift is trying to focus on her wedding. “Taylor has nothing to do with this,” the source said. “She was supporting a friend — that’s it.”
But she’s still keeping an eye on the proceedings. “She’s watching everything,” the insider added, “Because the last thing she wants is her name or her texts dragged into this again.”
Shuter says the mood for Swift is “Relief — but not peace,” at least not yet. “Not until it’s completely over.”
And all of this comes after reports that Swift has settled on June 13 in Rhode Island for her wedding, and Lively might not be part of Swift’s special day. Sources told Us Weekly that Swift was planning two separate girls’ trips to make sure all her friends can attend her bachelorette party. But the list of names being thrown around doesn’t include Lively.
The source says Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, the Haim sisters, Este, Danielle, and Alana, Kylie Kelce, Brittany Mahomes, and childhood BFF Abigail Anderson “are planning something special for Taylor ahead of her big day.” This is only for the bachelorette party; the wedding is set to have more guests, reportedly around 150. But if Lively isn’t close enough to Swift these days to make it into the bachelorette party, there’s speculation she and husband Ryan Reynolds won’t even attend the wedding.
Lively was considered one of Swift’s closest friends for years. The two, however, have reportedly had a falling out after Swift felt she was put in the middle of Lively’s legal fight with It Ends With Us, co-star and director Justin Baldoni. Some of the texts the two exchanged about Baldoni have been released amid Lively and Baldoni’s continued legal fight. And wedding or not, the legal fight continues. We’ll have to see what that means for Lively’s attendance to Swift’s wedding.
