Taylor Swift just released an album, The Life of a Showgirl, last year, and the focus has now turned to her upcoming wedding to Travis Kelce. But with new eras in life comes inspiration, as Swift herself has spoken about before. So, fans are obviously wondering if this era, that of fiancée and soon-to-be wife, has inspired Swift creatively.

Reportedly, the answer is more complicated than we might think. In that, yes, she is inspired, but that doesn’t necessarily mean an album is coming soon. Us Weekly recently reported about Swift, “She does have another record in the works, but there’s no pressure to release it anytime soon. It’s still very much in the creative stages.”

But a new album might come without a tour for The Life of a Showgirl, which makes sense considering what a massive undertaking the Eras Tour was. “This was meant to be a lighter, fun chapter. She never meant to do a massive tour attached to it. Taylor’s priority right now is her personal life. She and Travis are saving all their energy for the big summer they have coming up,” a source said.

Swift herself talked about how tiring the tour was and what her plans for the future were last October on BBC Radio 1 with Greg James. Responding to the question of if she wanted to do something soon, she said, “No. I’m going to be honest with you, I’m so tired, like, when I think about doing it again. I want to do it really well, again.”

With Swift, that doesn’t mean she isn’t thinking and creating. It might just mean there are no concrete plans. In December of 2025 a source told Us Weekly that Swift “always has ideas percolating,” but is not “locked into” a new tour, explaining, “There have been ideas floated, but right now she is enjoying her break.”

And planning a wedding! That’s a lot of work.

“The Eras Tour was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so she’s not going to put pressure on herself to make everything that big and ambitious. She’ll make sure the next one is special in its own right, but she’s also realistic about it,” the source also said.

Swift is technically still promoting The Life of a Showgirl. A new video for the song Elizabeth Taylor was just released. And though it is true that the singer has surprised fans with a new album a couple of times, she wasn’t planning a wedding then.

And The National Enquirer recently reported that while “Taylor’s incredibly excited about marrying Travis, the logistics of it all are causing a ton of stress,” according to a source. Some reports indicate the wedding could take place on June 13, a date that makes sense because it’s right after the Chiefs’ minicamp and before training camp starts at the end of July. That means the couple would have time for not just a wedding, but a honeymoon. There are even some names being thrown around for the guest list, with the wedding reportedly on the small side, with about 150 guests.

“The problem is there aren’t a lot of other options as far as their schedules go. They have a very tight timeline because it all has to fit around Travis’ football schedule,” the outlet explained about the timing.

“Taylor totally supports him going back for another season. It’s what he loves, but it hasn’t made the wedding planning easy — or the honeymoon for that matter, because he’s going to have such limited availability once the preseason starts.”
