Now that Lauren Sánchez has married Jeff Bezos, the former journalist is setting her sights on helping others find a relationship like the one she found with the Amazon founder. Yes, she’s become an unofficial matchmaker, and reportedly, she’s got a good track record already.
Sánchez was reportedly responsible for introducing Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau, and she has reportedly been setting up quite a few people. The DailyMail reported, “Everyone these days goes to Lauren, she is like a matchmaker now because, between her friends and Jeff’s friends, they know a ton of eligible bachelors and they are cool, they will introduce people for sure.”

And she also reportedly set up model Brooks Nader, with actor Taron Egerton. “Brooks told her good pal Lauren to set her up with a cute guy,” a source said to the outlet. “So Lauren was like, what about Taron? Brooks flipped because he’s so hot and talented, she was like yes, yes, yes.”
Her wedding was actually the place where the two hit it off. “Brooks and Taron talked at Lauren and Jeff’s wedding. She met everyone there.”
Rob Shuter reported on his Substack last October that Sánchez had been the one to introduce Trudeau and Perry. “Lauren introduced them through her circle — she thought they’d vibe instantly. And wow, did she call it.” And well, if it works once, keep trying?
Ironically, this comes as the marriage between Bezos and Sánchez faced some reports of trouble. Hollywood insider Rob Shuter recently reported that the two are settling into married life, and that brings its own challenges. “Everything changed the moment they got married,” one source told the gossip columnist. “The honeymoon phase is over.”
The two recently made waves after a particular interaction during the Vanity Fair Oscars post-party. Bezos and Sánchez first took pictures together on the red carpet, and then Sánchez seemingly said something to Bezos, who walked out of the shot so she could take some solo pictures. But of course, since they are who they are, the internet dissected the moment.
“Proof that money can’t buy class!” one person said. Another commenter noted, “Lauren: Step away, hubby. You’re hogging my camera time,” alongside laughing emojis.
Shuter’s sources commented on that too, saying, “That look wasn’t nothing,” adding, “There’s tension there.”
“People close to them are giving this marriage a year — max,” one insider added, explaining how things have changed since the two tied the knot. “Before, it was all excitement and attention,” the source said. “Now it’s real life — and it’s not as perfect.”
Reports of possible issues have followed them since the holidays. “Lauren’s energy is non-stop,” a source told Shuter at the time, talking about their different vibes during their getaway. “She was jumping, dancing, laughing — and Jeff was hanging on for dear life. He looked wiped.”
“He’s happy, but he’s clearly worn out trying to match her,” another source said.
Trouble in paradise? Hard to tell just yet. But that won’t stop people from speculating.
