It’s all coming down to this. The Weeknd just released his sixth studio album Hurry Up Tomorrow and it’s filled with some of the most iconic surprise appearances of 2025 yet.
Hurry Up Tomorrow marks the last album that Abel Tesfaye will release under the stage name The Weeknd, as well as the last album in his trilogy after previous LPs After Hours and Dawn FM. “It’s a headspace I’ve gotta get into that I just don’t have any more desire for,” he told Variety about his decision to retire the name. “I feel like it comes with so much. You have a persona, but then you have the competition of it all. It becomes this rat race: more accolades, more success, more shows, more albums, more awards and more No. 1s. It never ends until you end it.”

All of the features in the album are uncredited, but we broke down the best surprise guest vocalists, producers, and rappers on the album.
“Wake Me Up” is the first act to a requiem for the death of The Weeknd moniker. The song amps up the Giorgio Moroder scored Scarface sampled synths in a creepy crescendo. Tesfaye confesses his struggles, “All I have is my legacy / I been losing my memory.” In true French DJ fashion, Justice switches up the mood with an incredible throwback sample to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and we’re back to a classic danceable banger from The Weeknd.
This song features another Giorgio Moroder sample from his score work on the movie Midnight Express. It exemplifies The Weeknd’s last dying wishes on his deathbed.
Man, does it feel so good when there’s a throwback in your final album? Future interpolates The Weeknd’s 2015 hit “Can’t Feel My Face” behind a groovy beat. He sounds like he’s missing his lover for a bit, but he eagerly balances it with his regular rap style.
This is the seventh collab between The Weeknd and Travis Scott, and like always, it did not disappoint at all. Tesfaye is at a point of exhaustion and giving up, but the “Goosebumps” rapper amps up the pace at the midpoint to bring the mood back up.
This marks the second collab between The Weeknd and Playboi Carti after they appeared on Madonna’s “Popular.” Carti introduces the songs with his signature flaunt and confidence about a girl who thinks she’s the main chick and not a side chick. The two reference their own successful record labels and marvel over their sexual and commercial successes.
Is it getting hot in here, or is it just us? Tesfaye debuted “São Paulo” in none other than at his “One Night Only” concert in Brazil in September 2024. The pulsing synths and Anitta’s hypnotic refrain when she repeats the iconic line from Tati Quebra Barraco’s iconic song. “Bota na boca, bota na cara, bota onde quiser” quite literally makes the scene really steay like the South American country.
Lana Del Rey has the Midas Touch—anything she’s featured on becomes gold. As Tesfaye sings “You know my heart belongs to you,” Lana’s voice lures you in like a siren. She thrusts her vocals in the outro singing with all her might, “Is a threat not a promise?”
